From my early years as a camp counselor to leading groups for teens in clinical practice, my mission is to empower the next generation to lead a more valued life. Growing up in today’s world isn’t easy! As a licensed psychotherapist I help children, teens, and families develop healthy skills to manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. This form of evidence-based practice, known as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Stz–d17ID4, helps to teach the next generation how to cope better with life’s stressors – ultimately reducing anxiety! With over 14 years of clinical experience in the field of mental health my practice is rooted in creating a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and compassion. I believe it is my calling to support kids and their families.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts (AM) degree from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. After ten years of practice I completed a Clinical Fellowship in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy from University of Chicago. I also serve as part-time faculty at Wayne State University School of Social Work.

I am here to support you on the journey of growth and help guide you through life’s stressors! As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I have several years of experience working with children, adolescents and young adults. I am passionate about helping kids and teens find their path. My areas of expertise are helping those with anxiety, depression, ADHD, interpersonal relationships, family conflict or life adjustments. Utilizing a client centered approach, I meet my client where they are at and focus on their individual feelings and needs. Hi! I’m Lexie. Intern at Therapyology. I am currently working towards my Masters in Social Work degree at the University of Michigan. Go Blue! While I may be a social worker “in training” my passion for helping children and teens began many years ago during summers spent at sleepaway camp. Being a counselor and supervisor at sleepaway camp was where I developed my spark for supporting campers through many different social and emotional issues. Then, while attending college at Michigan State University, I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Organizational Leadership and Jewish Studies. Being involved in several different organizations provided me with the experience and leadership opportunities to pursue a career in social work helping to change the lives of the next generation… at Therapyology! I am passionate about helping children and teens find their way and reaching their full potential.

Sometimes we need support to help us as we are navigating along the journey of life. Do you find you spend most of your day in fear-based thinking? Or does it feel like you are just going through the motions and lacking purpose? I work collaboratively with my clients to help them to build resiliency. I have a passion for empowering my clients to feel confident to not only cope with their current challenges but to build trust in their ability to cope with the future challenges that will come their way.
Creating a safe inclusive space for clients to open up is a core value of my practice. Feeling comfortable to explore thoughts, feelings, or behaviors that are causing distress, I believe, is one of the most important aspects of therapy. I specialize in working with children, teens, and young adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life adjustments, low self-esteem, and interpersonal conflicts.
As every client is unique, I utilize an integrative approach that services each client’s specific needs and goals. At Therapyology we are all about empowering the next generation. Together, let’s continue to normalize reaching out for support and breaking the stigma of mental health!

Hello, I’m Shivanjali! A thriving intern at Therapyology pursuing my Master’s in social work at Wayne State University. Throughout my childhood I always dreamt of being a pediatrician and working with children; however, during college I found my passion for psychology and set forth to pursue a career helping children be a better version of themselves. Prior to the pandemic, I fell into my second passion: social justice. For years I had felt ashamed of my heritage and ethnicity as an Indian until I realized that I had nothing to be ashamed of; I learned to embrace my heritage and culture. I then began advocating and educating myself on cultural competency and the importance bringing cultural awareness to mental health and the field of social work. Since 2012 I have been volunteering with youth groups at nonprofit organizations mentoring and tutoring kids and teens in various capacities such as a camp counselor and musical instructor. Today I am also fiercely proud of my culture, religion, and my identity. I am super excited to bring my passions and background to Therapyology to continue to empower the next generation so they can be the best version of themselves!
